Uta Koloczek born in 1980, studied ceramics and ceramics-design at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, in Helsinki, Athens (Ohio) and Eugene (Oregon). Since 2008 Uta Koloczek works as a freelance ceramics-designer. She firstly discovered her reinterpration of the porcelain figurine through a residence in a traditional manufacture. She already successfully co-worked with some selected manufactures in Germany, like Reichenbach Porzellan, Goebel and Aelteste Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur. In 2010 she founded her own studio in Berlin and presented her collection of subtle-humorous pug and chihuahua figurines for the first time, that aroused attention internationally. In 2013 she added the series "chamouflage", a selection of wall objects with chameleon figures. |
